Ripoffs: Vonage Silently Adds "Optional" Feature, Refuses To ...

[Consumerist Comments] But I've been a Vonage customer since 2005, and with taxes being added to the service, price increases, and to the fact that I make a good amount of international calls, which makes my bill rather variable , I didn't look at them in detail enough. I'd go online every month, see the screens (as in the screenshots) and assume that VV was off, and that the amounts over the standard service rates were for my international usage.

Linksys PAP2 Phone Adapter For Vonage Internet Phone Service

[voipsolutionfarm.com] I rarely write review on products but I do read most of them before I buy and let me just say I never experienced so many problems like the ones I had with this product and Vonage. Vonage is the worst when it comes to customer service, I have been more than fair with them and allowed them time to correct the issue I keep having with everything with their name attached to it.

Messing with Vonage, Skype, and the iPhone

[Thunder-Thumbs] well, it wouldn’t make sense to just go down to normal Vonage Call Forwarding to Skype, because it would be the same thing and the iPhone would never ring at all from it. The other thing I could do though, is I could try being logged on to Skype from two locations, and just leave it logged on all the time on my Desktop.

Vonage Pro to Keep Customers Connected to Their Home Phone on the Go

 [VoIP Monitor] Vonage Pro, which comes together with Vonage's Residential Premium Unlimited Plan, will be offered to new customers for a plan fee of $34.99 per month (plus taxes and fees), and the plan fee for the first month will be waived as part of an initial promotion of this plan. Existing customers on the Residential Premium Unlimited Plan can add Vonage Pro for an additional $10 per month and they will also have their first month's Vonage Pro fee waived as part of the initial promotion.

Without a significant differentiator or very deep pockets for marketing to create an online and offline presence it will be very difficult to survive in this extremely competitive market with call termination costs dropping rapidly and squeezing margins.

Too bad Lingo whose unlimited plan is five bucks cheaper has been offering free calls to most Western European countries ever since they launched.
