Cats Walking Backwards: We talk a bit about our June shows without Al, and his current project that takes him to Argentina, Chile, Bolivia, and later this year, Cuba, to capture the colloquial impressions of Latin American and Marxist revolutionary Che Guevara and how his image has been ironically capitalized upon in recent years. Al will be digging beyond the mere history, and will fill us in on his progress on future episodes when he checks in from the various points of interest. (via Cosmos)

Cats Walking Backwards: Later this month, we’ll be sharing a stage with TriFectaFunk, so keyboard player/lead vocalist Tristan Eckerson took some time to tell us a bit about TriFectaFunk’s music and his perceptions of the local music landscape, all in answering the quintessential question “what’s your deal?” (via Cosmos)
The Web 2.0 Show: Cory followed up on boingboing with an interesting question: Is it better to own the name for a huge paradigm shift, or better to just have the power to make these shifts widely adopted? To me, this is just typical big business, department A has no clue what department B is doing (or business partners in this case). (via Cosmos)
Just Hack: Most admin sections have a quick add ajax drop down form. And best of all, static pages have been added, making Typo a mini-CMS. (via Cosmos)
Vitamin Features: Add a second new component to AHP and set the input to Default System Input or your USB recording device. Choose the output to be silence (You may opt to output the sound to SoundFlower (2ch) and setup a third component to record the mix you have created, then there is no need to mix it later from two files.) Blood, Sweat and Tiers: Q: What do you get when you cross: * your Mac * your ipod * Project Gutenberg, my favourite source of great literature in goold old single-file ASCII text * Cepstral William, the sexiest robot text-to-speech voice around, and * Audio Hijack Pro to capture whatever William says and turn it into bookmarkable mp3 files to put on your ipod...? Evil Genius Chronicles: Whenever I use Audio Hijack Pro (of which I am a proud paid customer and give my highest recommendation), I always use the VU Meter plugin. Maybe this is my radio background showing in the romanticization of old affordances, but watching that needle bounce to the right and into the red is infinitely more satisfying than any sort of LED or progress bar style meter of the same information. Weblog - Lost Angeleno: The one I have the highest hopes for is Hot Recorder, which has gotten some good reviews from other frustrated PowerGramo users. This has a manual recording feature, so the user controls whether the recording takes place or not, rather than the software. (via Cosmos)
Want to learn from a true web expert - welcome to Tailored Consulting: I'd love to find a reliable easy way to record skype calls. Cheers, Matt ======== Answer: Click here to play the audio mp3 file Matt (674 kb) Cheers Brendon Links: Hot Recorder - a free program that easily records conversations you have on Skype (also free, but if you want to call landlines or mobile/cell phone numbers then you have to buy some (very cheap) calls). [Ice-notes.blogspot.com] ICE Director's Blog: Equipment needed: a better microphone (i.e., Audio Technica, Shure, Griffin, or Sennheiser), an 'outboard mixer' (one that is a piece of hardware, separate from the computer), and an external recorder. With the addition of cables, adapters, and so forth this adds up to something like a recording studio.
