VoxxMail > T-Mobile UK innovative HulloMail voicemail service: Abolished ...
[Phones Review] The move comes after prolonged pressure from the developer and customers incensed at being penalised for opting out of T-Mobiles own voicemail service. T-Mobile had been the only Telco to levy a premium 17p or 26p depending on your package per minute charge.

[Greener Living thru Technology] Today Show features Google Voice: If youve set your Google Voice number as one of these “friends and family” or “faves” you can call your Google Voice number from your cell phone for free, then connect to whatever other number you want (free domestic, cheap international). Not only that, calls that come through Google Voice should be seen as a call from that same “fave” (if not you can configure Google Voice to do that), and now you have free incoming calls, too.
[The iPhone Blog] AT&T Still Not Activating All iPhone 3G S ” Apple Giving $30 ...: The next day, I noticed Visual Voicemail and Data had stopped working. I also had an e-mail from Apple notifying me that my iPhone had been activated, so I replaced the old SIM with the new one, and it all worked again.
[The Business Insider] Sprint Blowing Palm Pre Marketing -- At Least At This Store: If that's the case, then that means Palm has to beat Apple, RIMM, GOOG/LG/Samsung/MOTO/Acer/etc., Symbian/Nokia and Microsoft for one of those slots. So, Palm now has to compete against much larger players for the consumer market (this is again assuming RIMM locks up the business market - which they pretty much have overall due to the acceptance by enterprises of their backend systems) with much less marketing dollars and carrier incentives.
[Greener Living thru Technology] My T-Mobile @ Home Experience: I went to their web site (http://t-mobileathome.com) and learned all about it, no voicemail-to-email like I'm used to, but they do have E911. I clicked on the “I want it” button, which then asked me if I was or was not a current T-Mobile customer. .... I received a @home router much like my friend Joe Levi. It was a process and about 4 hours later I emerged from the store with all my gear and a shove it Comments. Sumit - roysumit says: September 8, 2008 at 23:02 ...
[Monday Note] Google Voice: Did Carriers Miss An Opportunity? | Monday Note: Other explanations? The “last mile” is a good candidate, meaning carriers bet theyll keep making money because they own the wire or wireless connection to our homes and pockets, pardon the pun. Think of the hundreds of billions needed to duplicate what already exists: coaxial cables, a pair of copper wires, fiber, or cell towers. Those billions act as an effective barrier to new entrants. And they lead us to the carriers default strategy: being providers of IP (data) pipes, static and mobile. The good news, for them, is the oligopolistic (a very small number of competitors) nature of the business. Economic theory and observation agree: most often, a small number of suppliers, two, three or four leads to the equivalent of price collusion, even when there isnt any illegal agreement between the players. Without fear of a race to the bottom, of a price war for the “last mile”, carriers could let Google come up with as many free services as they want, email or voice, as long as the traffic goes through the toll booths on their data pipes.

[Mobile Industry Review Show (Large M4V)] What's the deal on 08000mumdad.co.uk? | Mobile Industry Review: I contacted their customer service number and was put onto their voicemail, asking me to leave my details and a return phone call will be delivered within 24 hours. I wasn't prepared to wait that long (if a call-back promise was to be fulfilled) if more charges were going to be sent in that time, but a call was returned and the CSR explained everything in regards to my son's mobile number.
[ThunDi Technology Blog] ThunDi Technology Blog » Blog Archive » T-Mobile UK innovative ...: “These days people expect voicemail to be as flexible as any other form of digital communications and our service allows precisely that. Im therefore delighted that when T-Mobile saw the advantages of our solution and how strongly users felt about it, they agreed to change their divert charge policy for HulloMail users.”
[VisionMobile :: blog] VisionMobile :: blog :: NaaS: Network as a Service, a new business ...: In addition to all the barriers you mentioned (lack of interworking, lack of global reach,”¦), the lack of revenue-share models (”how the developer makes money?) limit the value of NaaS-enabled features for Internet applications; Internet developers will keep finding workarounds and the cheapest alternatives rather than leveraging carriers capabilities (for instance getting location directly from the device instead of querying the network), reinforcing the dreadful “bit pipe” curse.
