http://dmorgen.blogspot.com [Scrivenings] The Big Brouhaha: Because one of the other issues that's been raised in the past is how women (and in this case, I'm thinking of academics specifically since that's the context I know, but you could probably extend that) have a harder time talking about their personal lives than men do, and still being considered professional - you know the whole thing of that if a woman brings her kid to class one day, she's unprofessional but if a man does it, what a great dad! (to provide a simplistic example.) So part of me wants to respond to the implied it's-harder-for-men-to-blog-about-personal-stuff message with: but isn't this the same thing that women have been dealing with for ages by now?
