[Mike Brown's Planets] Mike Brown's Planets: Sony Pictures and the end of the world: I don't think Sony Pictures would appreciate this if they knew about it. There may be firings - or, Sony Pictures routinely and automatically brings the full weight of the Law against all those who make unauthorized use of their name, image, copyrighted works, pirated music, etc.

[The Volokh Conspiracy] The Volokh Conspiracy - iPhone Keyboard Backlash?:: Apple programmed the thing not to play music from competing music stores, so you could only listen to music from iTunes, or that you ripped (or downloaded) yourself. Then, when some other online music store came out with a workaround to let you play their music on the iPod, Apple called it a crack and declared that they would "fix" it.
[Gizmodo] Apple iPhone Review - Apple - Gizmodo: But, if you ever do have to restore your settings to a new iPhone because your old one ate it, all your data and settings (save for email) will make it back safely. And if you're looking for Zapruder-esque proof of custom ringtones on your iPhone, people have found icons in iTunes 7.3 that point to an eventual ringtone functionality in here, although the exact way this will work is unknown.
[CNET News.com - Business Tech] Coming to grips with the iPhone's design - CNET News: Physical buttons would have required Apple to make compromises on the size and quality of the screen, and would take away some of the flexibility of the iPhone. Buttons drawn by software can be discarded when the user switches to another application, but on other smart phones, a healthy portion of the device is covered with buttons that only come into play when typing.

[Latest content from Bukisa.com] Business Basics for Voiceover Artists: 5 Tips For Setting Up A ...: Be professional from the start. Everything about you and the way you do business needs to let people know that you are a serious professional. Get yourself some business cards, a work phone number - get your voice on the business line voicemail, and a proper business email address. And get professional help - it doesnt take long to realise that running a voiceover business isnt all about being a voiceover actor - you are now responsible for a whole diverse range of activities: book-keeping, sales & marketing, administration. Some of these tasks would really benefit from expert help - If youre not an accountant - hire one, if you need to write a contract why not hire a lawyer. This also applies to tax and legal issues: its an awful lot easier (and cheaper) to get these things sorted right from the start rather than trying to unpick a mess afterwards. Are you setting up as a sole trader or are you registering a business - these will have implications on the tax youre liable for and the VAT you may have to pay. Its worth seeking out professional help from your local tax office to get all the information you need and the forms that you need to fill in.
[The Gadgeteer] Apple iPhone Review ” The Gadgeteer: The most frustrating thing about the iPhone (which I love, by the way) is that we don’t have any way of knowing what features were left out due to conscious design decisions and which are simply a result of limited time/resources on the part of Apple leading up to the product launch. It’s clear that some applications like Notes were given short shrift (Notes was apparently only a screenshot and not a working app when the iPhone was first demoed), and it’s inconceivable that Apple intends to leave them in their current state.

[iPhone Download Blog] How to Use an iPhone Without the Data Plan: I got frustrated with the Nokia in about 2 minutes (in part because Apple makes it pretty much impossible for you to transfer your contacts from the iPhone to anything but an iPhone…at least I couldn’t figure out how)…so I took the SIM card out of my Nokia and put back into my iPhone just to see what would happen–and it worked fine. According to the AT&T person I spoke with, the only way to get the SIM card working on my iPhone would be to call AT&T again and to switch the SIM card over to the iPhone.
