[http://diddy.name] I would like to alter the number of my voice mail on my Qwest landline. Instead of connecting callers to my Qwest voice mail box when I fail to answer, I would like callers be to forwarded to a separate phone number where I set up a voice mail box.

[Early Retirement Forums] Telephone Over Cable - Early Retirement Forums: It wasn't really in my area when I was working in the FiOS lab, but since we (Ma Bell) were competing with cable, I was sort of paying attention. I know it's not straight VoIP, being as the IP in VoIP is internet protocol and there's no packet switching, but they do compress the digital signal and for all I know once it gets out of the neighborhood they integrate it into VoIP.

[Silicon Alley Insider: iPhone] Qwest Dumps Sprint Nextel For Verizon Wireless: After calling QWEST customer service I found out that there are actually three phones that are offered (I still have not found out which ones they are, also I was told that after sometime in 2-09 all current QWEST phones will go dead and this terminates the contract without penalties to the end user (this may or may not be true since no one at QWEST can agree on anything). I do feel ripped off by QWEST since it looks like I will need to buy new cell phones no matter which provider I go with (Sprint may work with QWEST phones but there is no promises from Sprint that this is true).

[Needmore Notes] Needmore Designs ~ Needmore Notes ~ The Telephone Blues: So we’ve had to start looking around for another provider, which can be relied upon a bit more than the cell phone signal. We started our search with Qwest, since they supply our data connection, but their website is confusing and their support isn’t great, and while their Internet service is reliable, it’s not fast enough and they have no plans to improve their speed in our building.

[Rob in Gallup] Telephone Rules of Engagement « Rob in Gallup: Now, blissfully rid of the cell phone, I suddenly find myself dealing with the reality that, in a town like Pine Haven, literally any phone call I might want to make (outside of Pine Haven, where I know virtually no one) is going to ring up a long distance bill. I’ve figured out how to send text messages from email, and so usually, if I need to reach a family member, I send a text to their cell phone (they all live on their phones) and ask them to call me since they get free long distance.

[beingfrugal.net] Things to consider when dropping your landline and going wireless ...: I see the value in cell phones in grade/high school, because kids have after school activities and need to be picked up or whatever, but considering all that I’ve heard about the problems kids are having with cell phones (nude pics sent to one another, and I remember a very famous scandal about boys sneakily putting their phones underneath girls skirts and getting pictures of that), I would rather they not have them until they’re responsible enough to pay for them themselves (i. my experience).

[Mike Dopp] What do you mean my Qwest DSL line is blocked? | Mike Dopp: It was a process and about 4 hours later I emerged from the store with all my gear and a shove it to Qwest and all the high priced land line costs. [Blógünder Schlock] Blógünder Schlock » Blog Archive » Join me in a Qwest boycott?: I currently work for a competitor of Qwest’s, or rather a tech support company, one of whose clients is a competitor of Qwest’s, and for some reason Qwest does not publicize their support number in areas where these companies are in competition, leading to a number of calls directed to our company by disgruntled Qwest customers. Of course, they only get more disgruntled when we tell them we are in no way associated with Qwest.
