[Brainstorm Tech: Technology blogs, news and analysis from Fortune Magazine » Big Tech] iSuppli: Why Apple is sticking with AT&T - Apple 2.0 - Fortune ...: However, Verizon is putting a lot of capital behind adding Fiber and not a LOT behind its wireless because it has to rely on Vodafone and Vodafone more than likely was not trying to agree about putting money behind an UNPROVEN PROJECT/PRODUCT and give up some control of its voice features as well as sharing profits when it splits money with Verizon as it is. So Apple turned to AT&T and AT&T turned out to be the innovator AGAIN with allowing major changes so that the iPhone with the help of AT&T could be a market changer.

[CNET News.com] Is AT&T losing its grip on the iPhone? | Signal Strength - CNET News: I can see an Iphone on the verizon network when LTE is prevelant, but even by 2011 LTE will only be in 30 cities and I cannot see Apple giving it to Verizon when the phone would barely work in most of the country and only in 30 cities, until verizon upgrades it's entire network to LTE I dont see the Iphone making it over there, T-Mobile maybe much sooner. Also Verizon would have to cede a lot of control to Apple which they do not like doing with any handset manufacturer, so we will see but it's pretty doubtful in my mind.

[The Mac Night Owl | Cutting-Edge Tech Commentary] Would the iPhone Work in Verizon Wireless's Stepford Culture ...: Is it possible that a key reason the iPhone didn’t go to Verizon first is not because they use a different network standard than you find in most other countries, but they wouldn’t let Apple assume virtually full control of the product’s design? At least that’s what some of the pundits suggest.

[Crave: The gadget blog] Blame the iPhone's 3G network woes on you, me | Crave - CNET: The entire United States tech infrastructure is 5 years behind other countries because those countries either recently built all of those networks because they did not have anything in place before,or the US is a lot bigger than those countries so it is infeasible to build the networks as fast as those countries did it would bankrupt these companies, (all US carriers are in this position), plus those countries governments subsidized those networks in those countries so the companies did not have to take a huge hit in their bottom line( if we did this in the US the conservatives would cry out "socialism" again but I think thats what we should do).

[The iPhone Blog] AT&T iPhone MMS and Tethering Delayed Due to Bandwidth Concerns ...: I still wish Cingular wouldnt have been bought up by AT&T”¦. AndreaCristiano Says: September 3rd, 2009 at 8:47 am.

[Brainstorm Tech: Technology blogs, news and analysis from Fortune Magazine » Apple 2.0] Meet Seth the blogger guy, AT&T's answer to angry iPhone owners ...: I would like to say on behalf of AT&T,,,I think they have done a better job than most providers….Remember,,Iphone takes up a big percentage of Bandwith than any other smart phone…this has overloaded ATT network…They have shown that there are upgrading and building out more cell sites to fix the problem in areas that has poor network…NOT all areas have this problem…Now could Verizon have done better…the answer is NO>..Again the bandwith for the smart phone (IPHONE) is greater than anyother smartphone. So to the defense of ATT..people that are complaining on this board,,are probably people that had to switch to ATT network to use the IPHONE..

[The iPhone Blog] AT&T Updates on Status of iPhone Tethering | The iPhone Blog: someone who works in the wireless industry and understands the in's and out's of wireless networks that's the reason that AT&T is not allowing tethering.
