[Engadget Mobile] RIM's official position on sporadic problems occurring on some, but not all, BB Bolds since their launch last year (random power cycles, vague java exception errors upon boot up, etc...) is that it is the carrier's fault. Per RIM, when they released the OS to the carriers so that it could be tweaked to each of their networks, the OS did not have these flaws.

[Neowin.net / Software] iPhone install base now larger than Windows Mobile in US: I got so fed up last week when I went into AT&T because my Tilt stopped receiving phone calls (even after a reflash and format) I would just get a random voice mail. I checked EVERY SINGLE Windows Mobile 6.5 phone there and STRAIGHT from the factory they were SLOW, bulky, and unresponsive and that's not what I wanted anymore.
[You're the Boss] Making a List, Checking It Twice: BlackBerry or iPhone? - You're ...: A bigger, higher resolution touchscreen than the iPhone, the second biggest app store after the iPhone (but with fewer irrelevant things, and more free options) full QWERTY keyboard like a BlackBerry, its on Verizon (#1 in customer satisfaction, and much better than AT&T) the availability of custom widgets like you have on a Mac, removable storage, removable battery, 5 mp flash camera with dvd quality video, and full syncing with all things Google and gmail. Not to mention searching the web by voice.
[CNET News.com] iPhone OS 3.0: What you need to know | Apple - CNET News: The feature that was supposed to appear in September of last year will finally be making its way to phones in version 3.0. Scott Forstall, the head of iPhone software development, noted that Apple had been late on this, and blamed the delay on scaling, saying that the original system was too taxing on both the handset's battery and its processing power.
[developerlife - The Blog] developerlife - The Blog » New Review - BlackBerry OS 5.0.0.93: There are many APIs in the RIM API that will cause a prompt to be displayed in the BlackBerry UI that will require a user to provide explicit permission to access certain API functionality or access to certain hardware features or data on the device. Instead of interrupting the UI, its possible to ask the user for all of these permissions at the very beginning.
[Engadget Mobile] Sony Ericsson's XPERIA X1, how would you change it? -- Engadget Mobile: Find a carrier, make it actually available for sale instead of having your SonyStyle store team play stupid, don't use Qualcomm cpus, make it almost as big as your Clie NX80 (4" screen), accelerometer, flat screen, better keyboard, spend more time polishing the software instead of making it a typical Sony with great hardware and crappy software.
[BerryReview.com] Update: Life On OS 4.5.0.46 Is Pretty Stable | BerryReview.com »: Hi EJ, My understanding and having worked at a carrier, is that this is a network initiated notification, so once the Voicemail has been left at the Service Provider it will then generate a notification. Personal experiences over the many years, I have found this to be non reliable means of notifying of missed calls and voicemails.

[PalmAddicts] PalmAddicts: Decisions, Decisions...: The price is Right at $199, but then there's those ridiculous service plans starting at $60/month + stuff like caller ID and voicemail. There aren't any software simulators to try out, no demo units in stores (at least until Friday), and I have no idea what software will be available that would replace my present applications, nor is there any idea what the pricing structure will be like.
[Latest Phone Blog] Latest Phone Blog: Engadget Mobile: It's getting harder and harder to pick a smartphone, with options like iPhone OS, WebOS, Android, and Windows Mobile making the choosing difficult. Life would be easier if you could pick two, and that's what virtualization giant VMware is .
